Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid Misses Game Against Vegas with Lower-Body Injury

McDavid Injured in Game Against Calgary Flames

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid missed Tuesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights with a lower-body injury. McDavid was injured late in Saturday's game against the Calgary Flames and did not participate in Monday's practice.

The Oilers announced McDavid's injury on Tuesday morning, but did not provide a timeline for his return. McDavid is the Oilers' leading scorer this season with 118 points (44 goals, 74 assists) in 76 games.

McDavid Feeling Confident in Quick Recovery

McDavid told reporters on Tuesday that he is feeling confident in a quick recovery. He said that he is day-to-day and hopes to be back in the lineup soon.

"I'm feeling good," McDavid said. "It's just a little bit of a nagging injury, but I'm confident I'll be back soon."

The Oilers will be without two other regulars on their blueline for Tuesday's game against the Arizona Coyotes. Darnell Nurse is serving the second game of a two-game suspension, while Tyson Barrie is out with a lower-body injury.

The Oilers will know who their first-round playoff opponent will be as early as tomorrow night. The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames last night, which means the Oilers will either face the Flames or the Los Angeles Kings in the first round.
