Spencer Torkelson's Home Run Fuels Tigers' Comeback

Tigers Trail by 4 Runs Heading into the 7th

Torkelson's Blast Brings Detroit Within Striking Distance

Spencer Torkelson's two-run home run in the seventh inning helped the Detroit Tigers cut the Chicago White Sox's lead to 6-2 on Friday night.

The home run was Torkelson's fifth of the season and his second in as many games.

The Tigers trailed 6-0 heading into the seventh inning, but Torkelson's home run and a subsequent RBI single by Miguel Cabrera brought them within four runs.

  • Torkelson's home run traveled an estimated 400 feet to left-center field.
  • It was the Tigers' first hit of the game against White Sox starter Lucas Giolito.
  • Torkelson is now batting .250 with five home runs and 15 RBIs this season.

The Tigers will try to complete the comeback and even the series on Saturday afternoon.
