Convention to Showcase Chicago's Progress and Commitment to American Families

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has announced that Chicago, Illinois, will host the 2024 Democratic National Convention at the United Center from August 13-16, 2024.

The convention will be a showcase for the Democratic Party's policies and values, as well as the city of Chicago's own progress and commitment to American families. Delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories will gather in Chicago to nominate the party's presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"Chicago is a city that represents the best of America," said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. "It is a city of immigrants, working people, and families, and it is a city that has been at the forefront of progress on issues like affordable healthcare, education, and economic justice."

The convention will be a major economic boost for Chicago, with an estimated 50,000 attendees expected to generate more than $200 million in economic activity for the city.

"We are thrilled to welcome the Democratic National Convention to Chicago in 2024," said Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. "Chicago is a vibrant and diverse city that reflects the values of the Democratic Party, and we are excited to showcase our city to the world."
